What Counts as an OCNT Training Credit?
- Any ONLA-sponsored seminar.
- The Ohio State University Short Course (one credit per day regardless of the number of sessions attended per day).
- Any horticultural extension educational program (i.e.: Color Landscape Design Short Course, Turf & Landscape Day, Pruning Schools, etc.).
- Any educational program, sponsored by one of Ohio's local or regional nursery/landscape associations, and featuring horticultural extension personnel. Attending a group's business meeting or social function does not count.
- Any educational program or seminar sponsored by a national horticultural organization (i.e.: ANLA, ALCA, GCA, NLA, ISA).
- Ohio Department of Agriculture Pesticide Applicator School.
- Any professional horticulture seminar or training session conducted by personnel of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
- Horticultural service to the community: one credit per ten hours of service (may only receive one credit per renewal period through volunteer service)
- College level horticultural course (quarter or semester)
- Proctoring the Ohio Certified Nursery Technician Exam.
What Does Not Count as an OCNT Training Credit?
- Attending a horticultural trade show without also attending an educational program that might be conducted concurrently does not count.
- Taking, teaching or proctoring any test, exam or class (excluding proctoring the OCNT exam.)
- Classes taken in preparation for an exam.
- Consumer-oriented horticultural programs
