QUESTION:
I've seen some garlic mustard plants that have survived an herbicide treatment. I've always suspected that they just got hit enough to injure them but not enough to get a kill. Since then, I've always made it a point to do a pull in the areas where I've sprayed to try and get all that were missed. Last thing I'd need is for garlic mustard at my place to become resistant, or any other invasive for that matter.

The Ohio Nursery & Landscape Association is pleased to announce that Kevin Thompson will join the ONLA staff as executive director effective May 3, 2010. The announcement comes after an extensive search process that began last autumn.

Ohio’s Emerald Ash Borer quarantine was expanded by the Ohio Department of Agriculture to include 14 additional counties. The quarantine helps slow the spread of the ash tree-killing insect to uninfested parts of the state by prohibiting the movement of all hardwood firewood and ash tree materials.
While the invasive pest has not been detected in the following 14 counties, the department issues this quarantine to make the movement of ash trees, parts of ash trees and all hardwood firewood more practical among counties that are adjacent to previously quarantined areas. The following counties are now on the quarantine list: Adams, Ashtabula, Brown, Clinton, Coshocton, Fayette, Geauga, Highland, Holmes, Knox, Lake, Madison, Ross and Trumbull.
The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) decided to rebrand its landscape certification program beginning January 2010. Currently, certified individuals are referred to as Certified Landscape Technicians (CLT), but will now be referred to as Landscape Industry Certified. The new name consolidates the multiple specialties of the green industry into one certified classification.

ONLA members banded together to do what they do best: add beauty to our homes, our communities and our lives. The Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association (ONLA), along with its involved and proactive membership, completed a green industry community project yesterday for the Ogbuji family.
